SkillSelect System Outage Saturday 23/02/2013

To allow for system maintenance an outage has been scheduled for this Sat 23rd Feb 2013.

Outage time advised is 0900 – 1400.

SkillSelect may still be available for some period(s) during this window however users may experience error messages.

Please be advised that SkillSelect will not  be available on Sunday afternoon.  During this time you will receive the 500 server error message when trying to login into SkillSelect or trying to submit an EOI.

 

 

How points are awarded for age

This information explains the Age factor within the points test and how to claim points in your Expression of Interest (EOI).

When you claim points for this factor in your EOI, and you are invited to apply, you must be able to provide evidence you met the requirements of this factor at the time of invitation.  Further information on evidence that you must provide is available in Booklet 6.

Age

You can receive up to 30 points based on the age you were on the day you were invited to apply. You must be younger than 50 years of age when you were invited to apply for this visa.

To be given points for Age, you must:

  • In the Personal Details part of your EOI enter your date of birth

When I try to login into SkillSelect I am redirected to the SkillSelect home page

This often results from the previous session of SkillSelect has timed out and not be shut down. 

Try these solutions:

  • Close the SkillSelect page and restart your computer.  Then access SkillSelect by typing www.skillselect.gov.au directly into your internet browser.
  • Allow cookies on your browser.  You can do this by checking the settings in your Internet Options which can be found either in the Tools menu or the Settings menu.
  • If your network uses a proxy server to make clients anonymous, try disabling it before signing in or type www.skillselect.gov.au directly into the address bar before you sign in (do not use favourites or bookmarks sites).
  • Check your internet browser as this issue can result from the use of Internet Explorer versions 7 and 10.

SkillSelect system outage 28/06/2013

SkillSelect will be down for a few hours on Friday night 28/06/2013 due to system updates. Please be aware that you will not be able to login into your EOI at this time. The system will be available again on Saturday morning 29/06/2013.

DIAC System outages and offline periods 28 June to 1 July 2013

The department’s eLodgement systems will be offline for system upgrades from 28 June 2013 and may not be available again until 1 July 2013. Clients planning to apply online for any Australian visa, prior to the introduction of new visa pricing and policies on 1 July, are encouraged to lodge and pay for their application before 9 pm (AEST) on 28 June. Clients will not be able to lodge online visa applications while the systems are offline. If a client does not lodge their visa application prior to 1 July 2013, they will be subject to the new visa pricing arrangements.
